Henry Shields is a 2022 LHP/1B, OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Atlanta, GA who attends The Galloway School. Medium to Large frame with a tall, slender build showing room to fill out physically in the future. Ran a 6.89 second sixty yard dash. Primary Left-Handed Pitcher, working exclusively from the stretch. Lifts above belt while staying under control before striding out. Gets extended as he released from a three-quarter slot. Fastball was up to 83 mph as it flashed late sinking action. Lived down in the zone and got ahead early in counts with the fastball. Mixed in a breaking ball showing tight spin and good depth out of the same arm slot. Will miss plenty off barrels with this two pitch mix. Secondary Outfielder, fundamental in his actions as he worked into the baseball with urgency. Clean gather as he accelerates through the baseball. Arm strength starting to show as he threw it 79 mph during drills. Left-Handed Hitter, starting balanced as he lifts without creating much separation. Weight stays on backside as he works into a linear path. Creates lift at times due to weight being behind baseball. Looked to drive it up the middle and did so with some success. Outstanding Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
