Colton Sims is a 2022 RHP/IF with a 6-0 155 lb. frame from Russellville, AR who attends Russellville. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a projectable build with room to fill throughout. ran a 6.90 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, side step moving into a leg lift up to belt; effort at release, works to a three-quarters release point, shows arm quickness through the back. Fastball topped out at 89 mph, generates sinking actions to it and able to induce ground ball contact when down in the zone. Curveball shows short shape to it up to 77 mph with some depth and lands it for strikes with 11-5 shape; changeup touched 83 mph and flashed fade to arm side, maintains arm speed on the release. Athleticism plays in actions in the outfield, sound footwork on the approach, higher release on throws with quickness to arm, ball comes out cleanly with present arm strength. Left-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Works on a mostly linear path through the zone, flashes of lift out front, mostly line drive contact to all parts of the field, shows quickness to bat, best contact to pull side, projects with added strength.
