Richie DeLaCruz is a 2023 SS/RHP, 3B, OF with a 5-10 138 lb. frame from Knoxville, TN who attends Knoxville Catholic. Clocked a 7.28-second 60-yard time. Medium, slender build with room remaining to be filled out throughout his frame. Primary shortstop, displayed some athletic actions with a deep fielding funnel. Quick feet with range going to his left and right, flashing developing arm strength with throws across the diamond up to 74 mph. Secondary right-handed pitcher, full windup with a slight coiled leg lift. Uses his entire frame to stride down the mound with an over-the-top arm slot. Fastball showed arm side run as he was able to locate it on both sides of the plate. Worked his fastball up to 75 mph as he ranged 72-75. Flashed developing secondary offerings that he was able to land for strikes. Maintained his arm speed on his change-up with fading action, working it down in the zone. While also showing some feel for an 11-5 shaped breaking ball with some depth to it. Left-handed hitter, slightly open stance with a high hand set. Hover trigger with a line-drive swing plane, showcasing impact through the middle of the field. Flashed some power to the pull side, as he adds more strength the ball will carry more. Good student.
