2021 Sunshine Northeast Showcase
Tyler McDowell is a 2022 OF/1B with a 6-3 192 lb. frame from Teaneck, NJ who attends Teaneck. McDowell showed solid speed with a 7.17 60 yard dash from a strong broad frame. From the outfield, he worked directly to the ball and successfully fielded out in front. Creating more momentum downhill will generate greater velocity in the future. From 1B, McDowell displayed accurate throws with clean hands and good footwork. Offensively, he started from a narrow base with a full bat path through the zone and definite power potential. McDowell showcased a simple repeatable swing that created good backspin and lift on the baseball. With more hip rotation and weight shift, McDowell could become dangerous in the box.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
