Carson Faust is a 2023 RHP/3B with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Grafton, WI who attends Grafton. Large frame with a solid build and beginnings of strength. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball created occasional downhill tilt through the zone in the low to mid 60's, topped at 65 mph. Curveball displayed loose 10/5 shape with some downward depth in the mid 50's. Looked to located to the bottom quadrants of the zone and challenge hitters. Also worked out defensively from the infield showing deliberate footwork while rounding the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through exchange with developing fluidity. Extended arm circle at separation and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced occasional carry to the bag topping at 66 mph. Right handed hitter with an upright, even stance and simple front side trigger. Aggressively shifts into contact with lower half. Loose hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane. Looked to throw barrel head out front and attack baseball with intent. Displayed developing feel for the barrel while employing a gap to gap approach. Flashed some jump off the barrel when on time and squared. Good student as well.
