2018 PG Underclass All American Games
Colt Keith is a 2020 SS/RHP with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Biloxi, MS who attends Biloxi HS. Large, broad shouldered build with athleticism to him, present strength proportioned nicely throughout and incorporates it well into overall game. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front, can continue to incorporate additional lower half into release and refine overall actions, longer strides to the ball, lots of present arm strength on throws across, works on top well and shows accuracy to first base. Also pitched, begins delivery with a simple step back into a high leg raise; quick arm through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Works on top of the ball very well and generates plane, fastball topped out at 89 mph and filled zone with riding life; curveball showed big depth at best up to 72 mph and landed for strikes. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow in the box. Utilizes a high leg lift for timing at the plate; very quick hands and employs a linear stroke through the zone. Swings with intent and looks to impact the baseball, shows whip to the barrel and gets closed with front side at contact; best contact to pull side and shows a handle for the barrel. Very good student. Named to PG Underclass Top Prospect List. Verbal commitment to Arizona State.
