Ethan Smock is a 2023 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Wentzville, MO who attends Timberland. Recorded a 7.23 second 60-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with a medium frame and lean-athletic build. Medium arm circle and extra steps on throws across the diamond at shortstop up to 78 mph. Long actions moving around with a feel for the leather as he matures into frame. Actions transfer to the outfield where he made throws to the bases with direct momentum up to 81 mph with a slightly longer throwing stroke. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a long and in-line arm action getting down the slope. Hides the ball throughout delivery with drop and drive mechanics. Ball jumps out of his hand with clean action and fastball up to 81 mph and breaking ball in the upper-60s. Flashed a changeup around 73-mph for a solid three-pitch mix. Curveball has solid down action with depth when he gets out front and over his front side. Right-handed hitter with an open base and toe-tap trigger stride. Slightly lofted swing path with a short stride and middle field approach. Controls the barrel to all fields with repeatable stroke in the box. Good student.
