Cole Akins is a 2023 1B/RHP with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Braselton, GA who attends Bethlehem Christian Academy. Big physical build with plenty of present strength. Right handed hitter with a simple lift and replace load from a spread start, keep it simple in his timing and trigger, short uphill swing, looking to pull and makes his best contact when he's opening his front side and getting more extension through contact, has some juice when everything comes together. 7.42 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense. Also pitched, works from a full wind up from the first base side of the rubber, side step delivery with a rock back start, lots of variables to time up. Side arm slot coming through creates some deception. Fastball velocity varied, topped out at 73 mph with run and sink, fastball mixed with change up with the same type of life. Slider tends to be flat and sweeping. Worked quickly and was around the strike zone consistently. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
