Sam Lewis is a 2022 C/ with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Lexington, KY who attends Lafayette. Compact frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength with maturity. Ran a 6.95 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a balanced, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground towards the bag while working out of crouch. Clean, loose exchange while working through transition and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced some on line carry to the bag. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Stays on back side and works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose, extended hand path to baseball with a level barrel plane through extension. Barrel enters and exits the zone quickly. Displayed developing feel for the barrel while employing a mid field approach.
