Janiel Andino is a 2022 C/1B with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Carolina, PR who attends National Baseball Academy. Large frame with a strong, physical build. Ran a 7.48 second 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, lets the ball travel and does a good job of staying compact with his actions; solid transfers to the hand with a short arm action that generates accurate throws to the bag and can be projected upon. Righthanded hitter, sets up even and has a good weight shift into contact; strength shows right away, explodes to the ball with strong hands and has some consistency to the barrel but will improve with minor adjustments to use the big strength more consistently. Good student.
