Chance Purvis is a 2022 RHP/3B with a 6-0 185 lb. frame from Carthage, NC who attends Union Pines. Large frame with strong present build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.77 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, long takeaway through the back with some wrap, extends well through release from three quarters slot, lands firmly on heel of plant foot, fastball worked 76-80 mph with life to the arm side, worked in slider with biting tilt as well as slower curveball with bigger depth, did a fair job of throwing strikes. Hits from even-based stance with toe tap trigger, strength to pull side when the barrel gets out on time, intent is to drive the ball in the air, showed ability to drive the ball to left field. Worked out in the infield, waist bender with clean hands out front, methodical work through, stays balanced, clocked up to 78 mph on throws across. Very good student.
