Chris Serrano is a 2021 SS/RHP, MIF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Kearny, NJ who attends Kearny. Recorded a 7.08 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, athletic frame with long limbs and room to add strength. Primary shortstop with quick twitch actions, advanced lateral range and a clean funnel out in front to field. Shows ability to move well through the ball with well-engaged lower half, quick transfers and above average arm strength up to 86 mph in drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher; simple operation with slightly deliberate pace and good hip loading at balance. Efficient usage of his lower half down the slope with slight recoil and effort through finish. Fastball worked in the low-80s, topping out at 83 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Shows ability to command both sides of the plate fairly well with fastball/curveball combination, sequencing it well for both strikes and swings-and-misses. Curveball flashes 11-5 shape with some power through the zone and good spin attributes. Switch-hitter that hits from a similar even base stance with a high back elbow and simple toe-tap trigger from both sides of the plate. Middle-of-the field approach with line drive barrel plane and fairly consistent bat-to-ball skills. Slightly higher contact rate from the left side with more power potential and impact from the right-side. Solid overall prospect with fundamentally sound skill set. Excellent Student. Named to the 2020 Perfect Game Mid Atlantic Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
