Javier Gonzalez is a 2021 SS/2B, 3B with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Norwalk, CT who attends Norwalk. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to grow. Ran a 7.38 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves well on feet and shows nice footwork on the turn in live action, has a feel for action, quick transfer and release, fields the ball out front, sound footwork with quickness and shows carry on throws across the diamond with present arm strength. Righthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; short stride moving into contact and incorporates lower half well. Short swing path and remains direct to the ball, works to all fields and shows a handle for the barrel. Contact oriented approach, short finish through contact, best when staying through the ball.
