Carson Yearous is a 2019 1B/ with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Peyton, CO who attends Falcon. Large frame with an athletic build and wiry strength. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Primary first baseman, centers the ball from a slightly deeper position with clean glove actions while funneling. Flashed athletic actions while moving to each side with the ability to release from multiple arm slots. Primarily released from a compact three-quarters arm slot topping at 75 miles per hour across the infield. left handed hitter with balanced stance. Creates some front side coil at load before launching to contact with aggressive linear lower half actions. Turns the barrel to contact well on a uphill plane through extension. Primarily works to the middle of the field with present bat speed and strength at contact. Baseball jumps off the baseball well with backspin when on time and squared. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch. Created slight hip tilt at gather and utilized lower half while driving to the plate. Released from a long, low three-quarters arm slot with a fastball that showed some running action topping at 80 miles per hour. Curveball had 1/7 shape with good spin and some depth at 68 miles per hour. Flashed good feel for fastball with the ability to consistently locate to the inner edge of the plate. Very good student.
