Malachi Santiago is a 2021 SS/RHP with a 5-5 116 lb. frame from Gilbert, AZ who attends Campo Verde. Medium frame with young, slender build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.47 seconds. Hits from even-based stance, minimal loading mechanism in body/hands, line drive plane, hands work well through swing, could shift into contact better, will drive the ball more as he matures. Worked out in the infield, moves well to both sides and shows solid footwork, clean actions out front with good hands, arm strength clocked up to 74 mph across the diamond. Also pitched, quick twitch delivery, lower slot slinger from right side, good strikes, fastball worked 73-77 mph with arm side run, mixed in curveball with slow break and good command, also mixed in slider with horizontal break. Good student.
