Chandler Spencer is a 2022 SS/C, 2B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Lufkin, TX who attends Hudson HS. An athletically gifted player with a sound fundamental base, Chandler shows a sound understanding of the game and has a bright future. Chandler, in addition to his noticeable ability on the diamond, is also an accomplished and recognized scholar. Chandler is a primary middle infielder who shows very light and quick footwork. His actions with the glove and his anticipatory skills play at an advanced level. He truly looks more at ease and comfortable at second base where his actions play at an advanced level. His glove is smooth and easy. His lateral movement is excellent. He transitions well and his 77 mph velocity allows his throws to hold their plane with routine accuracy. He is especially adept at turning the double play from the second base spot. At the plate, Chandler's entire operation is routinely sound and is highlighted by the obvious strength and quickness in his hands. He generates great momentum as he transfer weight forward. He shows a consistent feel for the barrel and his flatter bat path allows his bat to stay in the zone for a long time. He has a noticeable ability to strike the ball with force. His entire hitting make-up will allow for power to come to his game as he continues to physically mature and gain more experience at a higher level. It is obvious that baseball is important to Chandler and his attention to detail and genuine effort level are highly admirable. He will impact a program at the next level.
