Christian Johnson is a 2019 RHP/SS/OF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Raytown, MO who attends Raytown HS. Very projectable young athletic build. Slow paced delivery with a high leg raise start, stays tall over the rubber, front side tends to get early and open going to the plate, 3/4's arm slot, tends to miss glove side due to front side mechanics. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, ball comes out of his hand clean and easy, gets running action when down in the zone. Tends to lower arm slot significantly on curveball and get under it on release. 6.73 runner. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base with quick and strong hands, hand generated bat speed, can use his lower half better, line drive middle of the field contact, short to the ball for his size, hard middle of the field contact. Very interesting athlete with young baseball skills. Follow carefully. Good student.
