Jacob Crowe is a 2023 SS/RHP, 2B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Richmond, IN who attends Centerville. Features a lean build with quality athleticism. Good runner. Ran a 6.99 60-yard dash. Primary infielder. Showcased sound, fundamental footwork with a quick first step. Gets around the ball well. Quality glove actions caught the ball cleanly on a consistent basis. Carries momentum into strong throws. Threw 84 mph across the diamond. Right-handed hitter. Utilizes a slightly open stance with a high back elbow setup. Uses a leg lift timing mechanism into a rotational swing. Showed the ability to create leverage within the swing. Combines with strength to drive balls with authority. Has the ability to use both gaps. Creating more loft within the bat path would allow the power to play more regularly. Also threw on the mound. Righthanded pitcher. Quality athleticism allows for varied deliveries. Will use a hesitation and slide step at times. Maintains ability to stay on-line down the mound. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot. The fastball sat 80-82 mph with slight armside run. Has the ability to throw it for strikes on a fairly regular basis. Paired the fastball with a low-70’s curveball that showed and a slider in the mid-70’s. The curveball is more developed for now. The deceptive delivery and ability to mix pitches kept hitters off balance. Very good student. Named to the Indianapolis Indoor Top Prospect List.
