Reece Lawler is a 2020 RHP with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Gurnee, IL who attends Warren Township. Long and lean projectable build, lots of room to get stronger. Simple turn and throw delivery, low effort mechanics, bit of a cross fire angle at release, high 3/4's arm slot, arm stroke is loose and easy, stays high in back, short stride down the mound. Fastball topped out at 89 mph, more velocity there with additional strength and physical maturity, mostly straight. Firm straight change up, drops in a big slow curveball that lacks present power but should improve. Strike thrower who can mix his pitches and compete. Very good student, verbal commitment to Iowa.
