Ely Adams is a 2019 OF/3B, UT with a 5-11 172 lb. frame from Davenport, IA who attends Pleasant Valley. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.16 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with aggressive footwork while closing to the baseball. Fluid glove actions while funneling with clean exchanges. Created good momentum to the bag while releasing from a high three-quarters slot. Throws produced on line carry to the bag topping at 74 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and large toe tap trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Direct hand path to baseball with a line drive plane through extension. Primarily worked to the middle of the field and showed good barrel whip when on time and squared. Ball jumped off the barrel producing loud carry to the pull side gap. Also pitched utilizing a side step to high leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Lands in line with the plate and carries momentum to target. Clean arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball created good downhill plane through the zone with occasional run in the mid 70's, topped at 77 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with good spin and solid depth in the mid 60's. Showed good command and feel for fastball consistently locating to each edge of the plate. Good student as well.
