2018 PG Top Prospect Games at Maryland
Lucas Rich is a 2020 RHP/1B with a 6-5 210 lb. frame from Florham Park, NJ who attends Newark Academy Extra-large, broad shouldered frame with long limbs and present strength proportioned, additional room to fill. Primary righthanded pitcher, begins delivery with a high leg lift up past belt, gets tall on backside; does a nice job of creating extension out front at release. Fastball topped out at 86 mph, some effort at release but shows cut action and attacked hitters, occasionally mistimed at release. Lived low in the zone with three-pitches and mixed consistently. Short tilting life to slider up to 75 mph, subtle life but effective. Curveball shows 12-6 shape with depth at 70 mph and flashed a changeup at 74 mph. Able to induce weak contact off the bat. Excellent student. Named to the Top Prospect List.
