Chris Ayres is a 2021 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Collegeville, PA who attends Malvern Prep. Medium athletic build with very good present strength. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide straight stance with a toe tap load, aggressive swing and creates good present bat speed, can drive the ball with back spin to the gaps, has some upward plane from a low hand load to create occasional lift. 7.06 runner, has range defensively in the middle of the field with good rhythm and balance , long and loose arm action with some carry when working through the ball. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a simple and repeatable delivery, 3/4's arm slot. Filled up the zone with a mid-70's fastball, topped out at 77 mph, threw an occasional mid-60's curveball with some 11/5 depth. Football player with an aggressive approach to baseball and good overall athleticism. Excellent student.
