Dusty Mercer is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Matthews, NC who attends Weddington. Large frame with a bulky build and present strength. Ran a 6.85 second 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher with a side step and medium leg kick. Lands in line down the mound generating extension out front. Long and loose arm circle in the back with a three-quarters release. Arm works well and the ball comes out cleanly. Life to the fastball topping out at 85 miles per hour. Landing the curveball for quality strikes with a 1-to-7 shape. Also worked out defensively from the outfield. High effort in throws using body. Accurate throws with carry to the infield topping out at 83 miles per hour. Lefthanded hitter with a wide base. Drops some during load and creates leverage at contact. Pull side pop with extension through contact. Present strength in swing. Excellent student as well.
