Arturo Ormaza is a 2022 1B/LHP with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Terra Environmental Research Institute. Medium build with broad shoulders and good present strength. Left handed hitter, hits from a narrow and upright stance, rocks back to start his swing, downhill top hand dominant swing, can use his strong lower half more to drive his bat speed, pull side approach with line drive contact, strong enough to keep improving as a hitter with adjustments. 8.10 runner in the sixty, primary first baseman on defense. Also pitched, high leg lift delivery with a long arm circle in back leading to a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with nice arm side running life, located his fastball well in the strike zone. Had good feel for a 12/6 downer breaking ball and used it at any point in counts. Graded out better as a pitcher at this event. Good student.
