Nomar Diaz is a 2022 C with a 6-1 174 lb. frame from Comerio, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Medium athletic build with some present strength and room for plenty more. Very good runner, 6.62 in the sixty, plenty athletic enough to play all over the field aside from catching. Has very good defensive skills and tools behind the plate, sets up low and quiet behind the plate, very good quickness laterally blocking, has a controlled and quick release on his throws and makes accurate throws, had no problems receiving mid-90's velocity and blocking low 80's sliders, impressive defensive performance. Right handed hitter, hits from a low hand start with a simple timer and swing plan, has the strength to impact the ball and more strength there if he wants to open up his swing, showed very good barrel control and the ability to move the ball around the field. Plays the game with a confident calmness and stays within himself. Good student, signed with Florida Southwestern State College. Named to the World Showcase Top Prospect List.
