Jackson Ranney is a 2025 OF/RHP/3B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Studio City, CA who attends Notre Dame. Tall and lean young build with tons of room to fill in and get stronger. 7.56 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, charges the ball hard, still learning his footwork in his transition and into his throws, has a long arm action with some carry on his throws from an over the top release. Also plays third base. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a barrel wrap load, long and looping swing swing, tends to get too steep downhill to the ball, has the leverage and tools to improve with adjustments. Also pitched, drop and drive mechanics, gets into his lower half well, compact 3/4's arm action that hides the ball well. Fastball topped out at 80 mph with some arm side run. Also threw a slider in the low 70's with big sweeping life at times. Has good arm talent when he learns to repeat his mechanics and release more consistently. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
