2020 PG Fall Top Prospect National Showcase
Ryan Rushing is a 2023 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from Bradenton, FL who attends Inspiration Academy. Recorded a 7.10 second 60-yard dash time. Younger frame with a lean build and room to add strength. Primary lefthanded pitcher with a high arm slot, side step into a leg lift at the belt, and a free and easy arm action. Low effort operation with some angle to the plate. Good feel for the glove side in terms of command. Short 1/7 shaped curveball with two-plane snap to it. Mimics release point with the curveball and the changeup showed some arm side run. Real feel to pitch with good life on the fastball that topped out at 84 mph. Lower release angle and misses bats up in the zone with the fastball. Curveball shows swing-and-miss potential. Arm strength plays from secondary position of the outfield. Righthanded hitter with a wide base, high hand set, and a high back elbow. Upper half dominant stroke and clears the lower half. Gets extended and has some barrel skill. Power will improve as he adds strength. Great student. Named to the 2020 PG Fall Top Prospect National TP List.
