Weston Russell is a 2023 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from St. Anthony, MN who attends St. Anthony Village. Medium build with plenty of present compact strength. Two-way prospect. Primary middle infielder who has a quick first step on defense and works well behind and below the ball, nice glove actions to the back hand, has good arm strength and carry on his throws. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a very high hand start and a big leg raise trigger, pre-swing set up creates lots of potential inconsistency, swings hard and has some bat speed and impact ability, downhill swing plane, has the strength to keep improving as a hitter with adjustments. Showed plenty of mound potential, has a short and compact arm action with drop and drive lower half mechanics to the plate, uses his strong hips well to generate arm speed. Fastball sat in the mid-80's with some downhill angle and running life. Curveball was a solid second pitch with significant downer action and bite, threw strikes with both pitches and had a quick inning. Good student. Named to the Midwest Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
