2023 14U Midwest All-State Games
Andrew Castor is a 2027 OF/2B with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from Marion, IA who attends Linn-Mar. He has a good frame for his age with a high waist and an athletic build. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.24 seconds. Primary outfielder that showed nice aggressiveness in fielding the ball. He is always in a proper fielding position and works off of his front foot. He transfers the ball cleanly to his throwing hand and throws with a longer arm action. He is able to carry the ball well and made accurate, one hop throws to the base. Left-handed hitter that starts in an even base that is slightly open with high hands and a low back elbow. He uses a small leg lift trigger for timing. He does a nice job of recognizing inner half pitches and attacking them with the barrel. He also keeps a gap-to-gap approach at the plate, letting the outer half pitches travel before sending them hard the other way. He was consistent at the plate, hitting line drives to all parts of the field throughout his round. Named to the 2023 14U Midwest All-State Games Top Prospect List.
