Asa Morrison is a 2023 C/RHP/1B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Springville, AL who attends Springville. Long and slender athletic build with some present strength and room for plenty more. Right handed hitter, hits from an open wide base with a hanging front leg trigger, hands start close to his body and don't ever get ideal separation, creates good bat speed and can drive the ball to the gaps with his best contact to right centerfield, has the hitting tools to continue to improve. 7.33 runner in the sixty. Has athletic actions behind the plate, lower half is quick and comes out of his crouch well, makes accurate throws with a good release, still developing consistency with his overall mechanics but that will come with repetitions. Took a turn on the mound, throws from a side arm slot that creates good running action on a 70 mph fastball, stays on line well and threw consistent strikes during two quick innings of work. Good student. Named to the Fall Gulf Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
