Luke Wenzel is a 2020 C/RHP with a 6-5 200 lb. frame from Mercer Island, WA who attends Mercer Island. Tall and slender athletic build, high waist, lots of room to get stronger. 7.50 runner. Obviously very tall for a catcher but does a good job staying low in his set up, receives the ball very cleanly out front with soft hands, clean glove actions, stays compact in his exchange and has some quickness, best receiving to his glove side, has arm strength and makes accurate throws. Vocal defensive player who is aggressive and shows leadership skills. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide stance with a loose and fluid swing, good extension out front, has some lift in his swing and can get the ball to jump and carry, works to all fields, showed his power in the games. Good student.
