Jack Marchese is a 2021 RHP/1B, OF with a 6-4 200 lb. frame from New Egypt, NJ who attends Notre Dame. Recorded a 5.44 second 40-yd dash time. Large frame with room to physically mature and projection. Primary right-handed pitcher; Uses a simple side-step rocker into high, inward leg lift and segmented hand break. Throws from a three-quarters arm with elongated drop and drive lower half mechanics. Deliberate pace to delivery allows for heavy arm-side run and well tunneled repertoire when in sync. His fastball sat mostly upper-70s in this look, topping out at 81 mph. Flashed loose curveball with 11-to-5 shape for some swings-and-misses and developing changeup at 71 mph. Current frame and room to add strength allow for projection on the mound. Secondary first basemen with a developing defensive skill set. Uses very deliberate fielding actions with a deep funnel, active footwork and some present arm strength across the diamond. Topped out at 82 mph in defensive drills. Right-handed hitter with an elongated swing path to contact. Uses a negative lower half leg kick for timing, while showing some strength through contact to the pull-side. Will improve with proper swing adjustments and continued maturity. Excellent Student.
