Drew Dowd is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Belmont, CA who attends Junipero Serra. Strong athletic build. High 3/4's arm slot, lands closed out front and creates big crossfire downhill angle to the plate, arm is fast and loose coming through. Fastball topped out at 91 mph, gets on hitters quickly and was thrown for strikes. Big breaking curveball with power and depth, tends to wrap the pitch in back and tip it off to hitters, lands the curveball very well and it is a potential weapon for him. Developing change up, tended to slow his arm speed. Seemed more comfortable throwing to left handers and especially using his curveball against them. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Stanford.
