Michael Sabella is a 2024 C/1B/3B with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from Cornelius, NC who attends William Amos Hough. Tall, physical build with obvious strength in the lower half. 8.75 runner in the sixty-yard dash. Switch hitter, from the left-side has a slightly open front side with a bat wrap load. Showed the ability to get the barrel extended and impact to the pull-side. From the right-side, has the same setup, shoulder turn into contact with pull-side loft. Had more bat speed and barrel control in the left-handed swing. Primary catcher with a high side-saddled setup, elongated transfer with developing arm strength. Gains ground toward the bag, recorded a pop time of 2.24 and throws up to 70 mph. Secondary first baseman, step by step movements around the bag, fields the ball out front with two hands with some stiffness to the lower half, turns arm-side, arm drags at times resulting in wild throws. Needs to continue refining the footwork at first base. Excellent Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
