Kolby Shimojima is a 2021 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Tigard, OR who attends Tigard HS. Medium frame with a lean build. Frame projects for additional strength. Primary shortstop with clean footwork while rounding the baseball. Funnels the baseball out front and worked through exchange efficiently. Deep arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Throws created accurate carry across the infield topping at 75 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a slightly closed, balanced stance. Creates some top half coil at load and worked to contact with rotational actions. Swung with intent while employing a line drive barrel plane. Produced sharp mid field contact while flashing the ability to turn the barrel and work pull side as well. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch. Lands in line with front side while employing drop and drive lower half actions. Compact arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Fastball generated occasional run to arm side in the low to mid 70's, topped at 76 miles per hour. Showed developing feel for a curveball offering that generated 11/5 shape in the low 60's. Very good student as well.
