Steven Ayala is a 2022 RHP with a 6-2 270 lb. frame from Bronx, NY who attends James Monroe High School. Large, broad shouldered frame with present strength proportioned throughout frame. Righthanded pitcher, big side step moving into delivery with a leg lift up past belt and a slight hip turn at top of delivery. Low effort release with looseness to arm, works to an extended three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 81 mph with short running life to arm side, short stride down the mound. Occasionally gets mistimed with release, showed comfort for breaking ball and developed consistent release, 11-5 shape with short depth up to 69 mph. Good student.
