Eric Becker is a 2023 SS/2B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Thiells, NY who attends Don Bosco Prep. Large, athletic frame with a high waist and present strength, excellent physical projection remaining moving forward. Good athlete, posted a 6.77 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, moves quickly on feet on approach to the ball, solid arm strength and carry across the diamond, tools to play a solid third base at the next level, shows accuracy when on top of throws with quickness through the backside, displayed nice range going up the middle in live action. Left-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open and upright stance in the box; gets hands into a good position to attack, clean launch with nice present bat speed through the zone. Comfort working to the middle and pull side parts of the field, shows jump off of the barrel and will continue to unlock more with added physical strength, occasionally opens front side early, intriguing tools to follow moving forward. Excellent student. Verbal commitment to Virginia.
