Sam Roberson is a 2023 SS/RHP, 2B, OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Glen Allen, VA who attends Steward. Recorded a 6.81 second 60-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with a lean build and athletic frame. Fields out front with two hand gather and funnel to mid-body. Clean fielding mechanics with throws across the diamond at 76 mph. Athletic actions play as well from the outfield with direct line momentum on throws to the bases. Works through the ball with a lower slot release and accurate throws at 84 mph. Right-handed hitter with even hands and a toe-tap trigger. Slow and controlled operation with direct path through the zone. Creates lift with middle-of-field approach and works more efficiently when he avoids over-rotating. Best impact is gap-to-gap with backspin ball flight and trajectory.
