Sam Gutkin is a 2019 RHP/IF with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Morristown, NJ who attends Morristown. Medium frame with athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.72 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, hunches forward into delivery, leans back over rubber, compact arm stroke, releases from ear, tight release, fastball worked 68-72 mph with some deception, showed curveball with depth. Showed well with the bat, smoothness to hands through stroke, line drive swing plane, consistent contact, whole-field approach. Took defensive reps in the infield, bends at waist, fields with wide base, hands deep, clocked up to 75 mph on throws. Very good student.
