Patrick Burns is a 2021 3B/RHP, MIF, OF with a 5-11 172 lb. frame from Freehold, NJ who attends Freehold Twp. Recorded a 7.53 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium frame with long levers and some present lower half strength. Primary third baseman with sound defensive skill set, good lateral range and clean foot work into and through the fielding process. Good usage of lower half to funnel out in front with soft hands, working into a loose arm action with arm strength recorded up to 83 miles per hour across. Secondary right-handed pitcher, works from an abbreviated windup with forty-five degree start, slightly coiled leg lift and shorter stride out to foot strike. Pounds the zone with well-sequenced fastball/curveball combination, showing ability to command all four quadrants and manipulate the shape of his breaking ball. Curveball has the makings of true swing-and-miss offering with good spin traits and downer action. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wider base with tight hands and small leg lift trigger for timing. Well-engaged lower half mechanics with slight front side block, quick hands and the ability to manipulate the barrel. Middle-of-the field approach with rounded swing path and some occasional impact to the pull-side. Intriguing upside on the mound with two-way potential as he continues to refine skill set and add some strength. Good Student. Named to the 2020 Perfect Game Summer Northeast Top Prospect List.
