Josh Swales is a 2020 RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Porter Ranch, CA who attends Grace Brethren. Medium athletic build with plenty of room to get stronger. Slow paced delivery with good direction in his lower half, extended high 3/4's arm slot, upper body falls off hard to the first base side as his arm is coming through, arm is very fast and loose. Fastball topped out at 94 mph, mostly straight, maintained his velocity well and might have more in there. Primary fastball pitcher, mixed in an occasional soft sweeping slider. Getting his upper body directional to the plate will be the key to his development as the arm strength is definitely there. Good student, verbal commitment to Arizona.
