John Taft is a 2026 C/2B with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Watertown, MA who attends Billerica Memorial. A lean build and projectable frame moving forward. Room to keep filling out. Ran a 7.92 60-yard dash. A primary catcher who moved through it with urgency. Quick mover through the throws, getting up and throwing after he receives it. Throws were at 69 mph with a 2.34 pop time down to second. Good intent behind his throws during his round at the defensive workout. A left-handed hitter with a wider base and slightly open stance. Hands tight to the body and was able to get the barrel to the zone and spray line drives to all fields. Projectable actions in the batters' box with a good feel for the barrel.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
