Jake Howell is a 2025 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Rochelle, GA who attends Wilcox County. Recorded a 7.49 in the 60-yard dash. Primary left-handed pitcher, with a tall, lean frame and long limbs, drops the back leg and rides it down the slope very well showing good balance, extension, and explosion to the plate out of a high three-quarter arm slot. He has good lateral movement on release with a 76 mph fastball that has arm side run and keeps it down very well. He also mixes in a breaking ball with some depth as he is developing the release point. Left-handed hitter steps to the plate with a wide and even stance, high hands, and a high back elbow. Howell has a short and compact swing with a direct line to the ball exhibiting good control working the ball middle to pull approach as he is developing backspin on the ball. Also taking fly balls in the outfield showcasing good field mechanics and accurately throwing the ball to the bases at 75 mph. Tremendous student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
