Samuel Torres is a 2019 C with a 5-9 168 lb. frame from Yauco, PR who attends Pro Baseball High School Academy. Medium frame with slender, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.39 seconds. Hits from even-based stance, shorter stride, more upper half oriented through swing, incomplete shift off of backside, solid bat speed with line drive plane, middle-pull approach, found the barrel consistently. Worked out behind the plate, compact actions that work well, higher set, efficient and repeatable footwork, quick release with solid arm strength, clocked up to 75 mph on throws.
