Jake Miller is a 2022 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from Lakeland, FL who attends McKeel Academy of Technology. Large and physical frame. Ran a 7.99 second 60 yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, works exclusively from the stretch on the mound starting with a leg lift to his belt line, takes his arm back to a long arm action working up to an over the top arm slot, deliberate movements to his operation with ease at release, stays online down the mound. Fastball is mostly straight and topped out at 72 mph, flashed a curveball with developing spin, worked around the strike zone well with his two pitch combination. Secondary first baseman, fields the baseball in a low gather out in front, funnel is clean, creates uphill carry to his throws. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with a wide based stance and knot knees, weight sits on his backside, quiet hands with strength to them, has a lift to his path with an upper half dominant stroke, will unlock projectable power with additional lower half shift into contact. Outstanding student.
