Zakory Garcia is a 2025 SS/RHP with a 5-4 96 lb. frame from Corpus Christi, TX who attends Veterans Memorial. Small build with room to fill out the frame and add some strength to his skill set. He posted an 8.38 in the 60 yard dash. Primary SS, showed soft hands and good glove skills. Has a quick first step and takes good angles at the ball, does not a lot of push through the ball and plays back some limiting the footwork downhill. Good feel for his arm action showing throws from different slot just young with time to develop. Also pitches, the right hander worked exclusively out of the stretch with a medium leg lift and narrow stride to the plate. Showed a repeatable delivery and simple arm action releasing from a 3/4 arm slot, changes the slot to get top of the breaking ball. Did a good job filling up the zone, his fastball topped out at 62 mph and flashed a looping breaker that had some late dive to it and kept hitters off balanced. Controlled actions on the mound not looking to over do it, plenty more to see as he gets down the road. At the plate, the right handed hitter has a simple set with a high hand and back elbow set, he takes a long swing path that does not get much bat speed but shows intent to cover the zone getting some barrel tilt with a clean path. He can get slightly closed moving into contact but still get the barrel out. Contact approach does not look to over swing, he worked some line drives up middle and opposite field. Sound mechanics and efficient for size, there's some moving pieces there that are promising and can advance very well with some added strength.
