LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2006 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Mark Lee is a 2007 OF/P with a 6'0'', 185 lb. frame from Mason City IA, who attends Mason City HS. He has a good athletic build with developing strength. Lee ran the 60 in 7.24 but showed much better speed on the bases and in the outfield during the showcase. He gets very good jumps on the ball defensively and tracked down some balls we didn't think he could get to. Lee's speed on the bases is helped by his approach; he's a very aggressive player who really hustles at all times. Offensively, Lee hits out of a spread stance and gets out to his front side early in his swing. He shows some hand strength and bat speed and stays short to the ball. His best contact was to right centerfield. When he learns to stay back on the ball better and gets stronger he has the chance to develop some pull power. Overall Lee is a good athlete with a strong approach to the game and developing skills. He's a good one to watch. Lee is also an excellent student.
