Daulton Phillips is a 2025 C/RHP/1B with a 5-9 180 lb. frame from Carmel, IN who attends St. Theodore Guerin. Strong young catcher's build. Right handed hitter, hits from a tall and narrow stance with a short stride into contact, power approach with a pull and lift swing at the plate, swings hard and can drive his pitch with some juice. 8.30 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, has a long and strong arm strokes with with some carry to his throws, can improve his lower half actions and agility moving forward. Also pitched, works from the stretch with high energy delivery that has some deception to it, 3/4's arm slot, reliever mechanics overall. Fastball worked consistently in the upper 70's with good arm side running life and a feel for locating it. Curveball was a very good pitch with 2500+ spin rates and tight, late biting action. Graded out higher at this event as a pitcher than a player. Good student.
