Jerry Mitchell III is a 2022 SS/RHP, C, MIF, IF, OF, UT with a 5-8 113 lb. frame from Emporia, VA who attends Brunswick Academy. Recorded a 7.63 second 60-yard dash time. Younger frame with plenty of time to develop physically. Primary shortstop with clean hands on the backhand play. Compact mechanics and the ball comes out cleanly. Athletic build with good balance. Secondary catcher with a short arm stroke and is clean to the bag. Accurate throws and to the correct side of the bag. Good footwork too. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a high three-quarters arm slot and lots of moving parts to the delivery. Creates some run on the fastball. Curveball is tight and shows some depth. Confidence in the breaking ball and gets good extension out in front. Works quickly and attacks hitters. Throws strikes and utilizes his defense well. Righthanded hitter with a high hand set and a high back elbow. Short swing and stays inside the ball. Wide base to start with a slightly downhill swing path. Could shorten lower half to show some power improvement. Good student.
