Julian Cebrero is a 2023 SS with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Tucson, AZ who attends Sabino. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.03 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front, takes short steps on the charge in and showed range up the middle, short arm action through the back with tighter release, accurate throws across the diamond, arm strength will continue to develop on throws. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a slightly open stance with a high hand set and back elbow in the box; gets closed moving into contact with a leg lift trigger. Does a nice job of staying short to the ball with hands, longer path to the point of contact and shows comfort working to his pull side. One handed finish through contact, occasionally gets around the baseball, can continue to unlock additional strength with mechanical refinements.
